St. Augustine's Episcopal Church

Share a story

St. Augustine's is a community of friendly people who share a commitment to progressive spiritual growth within a family environment. We welcome those who seek a closer relationship with God made known in Jesus Christ, and celebrate our call to love and serve others as Christ came to love and serve all.

Donation Coordination/Distribution
Mission Trips and Partnerships

St. Augustine's Church has a "sister" church in economically depressed Tela, Honduras, Church of the Holy Spirit.

Shoebox Ministry

Each Christmas, the Christmas shoebox ministry elves of St. Augustine Episcopal Church send about 100 individually-wrapped shoeboxes fully-stuffed with gifts to the children of our sister church in Tela, Honduras, The Church of the Holy Spirit. Each box is designated a girl or boy of a particular age (lower school, middle school, high school). We include toys, personal items, and school supplies.

Everyone and Anyone can join this ministry. We prepare all year by gathering gifts. Our all-hands effort is in October when we assemble and wrap the shoeboxes and prepare them for delivery to Tela.  You can make prayer cards whenever you have some free time. And you can pray for this ministry unceasingly.

The Great Pumpkin Patch

Children and Youth Ministries
Community Building

St. Augustine's hosts its Pumpkin Patch every year in October featuring thousands of pumpkins and gourds in a myriad of sizes and colors.  We also sell jewelry, activity and carving kits, and our world-famous pumpkin bread!  School field trips are welcome, and we host the Pumpkin Palooza, a festival for the entire neighborhood, on a Saturday during the month.  The Patch serves as an opportunity for the community to come together to unload pumpkins and man the cash register and as outreach to the community.  Our volunteers are thrilled when a buyer says he or she has been coming to our Pumpkin Patch for twenty years!
