Trinity Episcopal Church (Trinity Lime Rock)

Share a story

Trinity's motto is "Companionship along the Way".  Our parishioners come from five states and seven Dioceses, and we welcome visitors to Lime Rock Park (across the street), area boarding schools, and the Litchfield Hills and Berkshires generally.  We are especially proud of our young people, our music program, and our year-round series of arts events, as well as our outreach programs in which we collaborate with community organizations in three states.

Trinity began in 1873 as a church for the local iron industry, which faded in the 1910-1920 period. It was the intent of the founders that all were to be welcome, from the lowest workmen to the senior management, and we have never forgotten their desire.  Faced with the loss of the local industry, both Trinity and Lime Rock reinvented themselves, a process that continues today.  People tell us that there is more happening at Trinity Lime Rock than at many churches many times our size, and we are never afraid to consider new challenges and new outreach partners.

Ministry to young people

Children and Youth Ministries

As well as year-round Sunday School, our young people are active in virtually all areas of the church.  As we recover from COVID, our young people are reinventing this ministry as we speak.

Food Ministry

Donation Coordination/Distribution

Year-round, Trinity collects food for the Northwest Food Pantry -- they tell us we are their most reliable donor.

The Gallery at Trinity Lime Rock

Arts & Culture

Trinity has been a focus of the local art community since the 1920s.  Today, "The Gallery at Trinity Lime Rock" provides a community art gallery offering each year an invitational art show, three juried art shows, and, beginning in 2015, a juried photography show. In past years, we have hosted single-artist shows as well as a children's art show.  The Gallery at Trinity Lime Rock involves many from outside the parish in committee membership as well as participating as exhibitors, and has its own Facebook page -- please have a look!

Crescendo

Arts & Culture

Now in its eleventh year and now an independent 501(c)(3) organization housed at Trinity, Crescendo brings world-class music to the Litchfield Hills, and has received national honors.  Crescendo's artistic director, Christine Gevert, is also organist and choir director for Trinity Lime Rock.  Crescendo performs in CT, in MA, and in New York City, with a repertory based on Baroque music but including modern and international music as well.  Crescendo's website is worth a visit -- and a listen!  www.worldclassmusic.org
