A RACIAL HEALING RESOURCE FOR THE ENTIRE EPISCOPAL CHURCH
The Diocese of Atlanta is home to the Absalom Jones Episcopal Center for Racial Healing (AJECRH), a resource for the worldwide Episcopal Church.
Building on our rich heritage in the historic Atlanta University Center, we carry forward a long tradition of teaching values and building leaders—Respecting our stories, Realigning with God’s vision of dignity, and Restoring communities of justice through courageous leadership.
The Absalom Jones Episcopal Center for Racial Healing strives to develop and equip morally courageous leaders—guided by our faith in Christ and the Baptismal Covenant—to respect human dignity, confront injustice, and restore communities rooted in justice, healing, and reconciliation.
Through experiences and pathways of learning, dialogue, and action, we invite youth, adults, congregations, and communities to walk with us on a journey of transformation—one rooted in deep listening, honest conversation, and faithful action. Together, we grapple with the hard truths of history, explore paths toward reconciliation, and cultivate the skills needed to create lasting change.
From interactive pilgrimages and leadership preparation to resources for dialogue and action, we equip individuals and institutions with tools to heal and restore justice—one person, one story, one community at a time.
The Acting Executive Director of the Absalom Jones Episcopal Center is Dr. Beth-Sarah Wright.
