Our Mission Statement: St. Clare's Ministries offers short-term respite form the harsh realities of homelessness, poverty, and the seperation we feel from God and each other. With God's help, St. Clare's is an open, welcoming, and diverse community that provides physicial and spiritual nourishment, clothing, and other support to our guests and volunteers in need.
Our Vision: To offer short-term respite from the harsh realities of homelessness and poverty through the provision of meals, clothing and other support to our community neighbors in need.
Our Purpose: We are a Jubilee Ministry of the Episcopal Diocese Of Colorado. The purpose of Jubilee Ministry Centers of the Episcopal Church is to engage in work with poor and oppressed people, wherever they are found, to meet basic human needs and to build a just society. It is faith in action–loving God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength by loving our neighbors as ourselves.
This ministry has evolved over the past 20 years. Begun as a ministry of coffee and sandwiches to the needy in Denver's Baker neighborhood in the 1970s, it has grown. In the fall of 2009, the ministry incoporated as a non-profit and a diocesan-sponsored institution. Many parishes in Colorado support the ministry financially. Over 15 parishes supply volunteers, who generally come as a parish group on an assigned Tuesday.
