St. Luke's Church

The women's outreach at St Luke's falls under the auspices of our Guild. In 2016-7 program year, we chose to support two ministries in addition to our ongoing collection of aluminum tabs which are donated to Hospitality House for their fund raising.

Our contribution this year was earmarked to support cataract surgery in the Diocese of Durgapur. This mission especially appealed to the older women who comprise our Guild. Each surgery there is $45 for cataract surgery and renews sight for members of their community.

Another mission project is in its second year to provide feminine hygiene products to low income and homeless women through Kalamazoo's Ministry in Community. In 2015-2016 we supplied more than $1000 of products to them. This year we are well on our way to do more!

St Monica's has established a new ministry which we call Friendly Visitor Program. We are visiting shut ins of our parish in pairs with regular monthly visits. It has been a joy to see this ministry come together and spark new enthusiasm in our members as well as provide a welcomed service to our shut in members.
