The Hope Project
Together with the Diocese of Texas, St. John’s in Center and St. John’s in Carthage, Christ Church in San Augustine supports the efforts of The Hope Project in Tenaha, Texas. CEO Colonel Jean Diebolt, MSN, opened its doors in 2003 to provide quality healthcare to the under-served of East Texas. As a non-profit faith initiative of the Episcopal Church, East Texans, regardless of race, religion, socio-economic status, or ability to pay, are offered medical services, which include counseling and dental care. Since its inception, The Hope Project has grown to over 20 employees, more than half who are bilingual, and has served more than 5000 patients.

This mission of service ministries among the various churches and helping agencies is entered into out of a sense that no one person or no one church alone can deal with the complex interrelated problems in our community, and out of a deep sense that we are all part of the Church called into being by the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.
