St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church Is located on a six acre tract on the corner of Oyster Creek Drive and Circle Way in Lake Jackson Texas, also known as “The City of Enchantment” as it is a member of “Green Tree City USA”. We serve a population of 41,799 citizens of Lake Jackson, Clute and Richwood combined. Lake Jackson was built by Mr. Alden Dow and Dr. A.P. Beutel in 1941 as a bed room community for the Dow Chemical Company Texas Division. It is said that Dr. Beutel was part of the committee in 1950 with Rev. Stanley Wilson of St. Paul’s Freeport that personally selected the lovely wooded site on the banks of Oyster Creek for the church.
The church buildings have been renovated several times over the years, culminating in a 33,000 square foot space of worship and fellowship. The property includes a main sanctuary with narthex and adjoining chapel, large youth room with cooking area, modern parish hall with professional kitchen, children’s nursery with library and playground, choir rehearsal room, adult Christian library, numerous Christian Formation classrooms for adults and children of all ages, administrative office space, and spacious wooded outdoor worship area with labyrinth and ample parking to service the entire facility.
Mission
We understand our mission at St. Timothy’s in this way:
We embody Christ’s presence by reaching out,
to receive with open hands
and to share with open heart
the Word of God, the bread of life.
Core Values
At St. Timothy’s we experience a community which accepts and nurtures us, gives us a taste of God’s joy, opens us to healing transformation through Christ Jesus, and enables us to hear the Holy Spirit’s call to ministry. We affirm the following core values:
Love - We love and accept one another and we honor the love we receive.
Outreach - We express our love and gratitude to God by sharing our gifts with those in need.
Tradition - We hold to the Holy Scriptures, the Liturgy and the Creed handed on by the Episcopal Church.
Christian Education - We are committed to spiritual growth for all ages.
The Arts - We embrace the arts as a pathway to God.

Ministries
Outreach
Purpose- TO respond to the Christian imperative that the hungry be fed, the naked clothed, and that others who are less fortunate, share in the good news of the gospel. Multiple groups come under this umbrella. They are:
Angel Tree- A Christmas Gift program for youth with incarcerated parent(s).
Prison Ministry- The Brotherhood of St. Andrew conducts an annual prison retreat at a nearby state prison and a Brotherhood team conducts weekly bible study at the same prison throughout the year.
The Food Basket-Food is collected year around for delivery to the local food pantry that distributes food twice a week. Church members also volunteer at distribution days.
Blood Drives- Our site hosts blood drives three to four times per year.
The Hall- This after-school program is for nearby intermediate school students.
Youth (EYC)
Purpose- To mentor youth to enable them to live into the Baptismal Covenant, to develop Christian community that is a sanctuary for youth, to integrate all youth into the full life of the parish, and to support our families as the center of spiritual formation for youth.
EYC programs include participation in the Pancake Supper, annual mission trips, and participation in St. Timothy's annual Living Nativity.
Christian Formation
Purpose- To offer opportunities for people of all ages to be transformed by the Living Word of God through study and reflection and spiritual practice.
There are Christian Formation classes on Sunday for adults and youth. A library is maintained for those wishing to delve more deeply.
Pastoral Care
Purpose- To seek, through prayer and service, to bring comfort, healing, and support to fellow parishioners. This ministry includes Daughters of the King, Flower Delivery, Healing Prayer Group, and Prayer Circle.
Worship
Purpose- To assist the Rector in shaping transformative worship services which contribute to restoring our unity with God and one another in Christ. Through our worship together, we not only receive joyfully the Word of God and the bread of life but are also inspired to share these gifts with our neighbors.
