Our 8:30 a.m. service is a more traditional service without our choir. Every week we gather as a community to hear God's Word and to be transformed into Christ's body for the world through the Holy Eucharist (the Lord's Supper). Communion is a way for us to participate in each other's life and in the heart of God. We leave to serve in Jesus' name. All are welcome at God's Table.

Supported by the outreach committee, Integrity is a Non-Profit Organization of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) Episcopalians and our Straight Friends. Since our founding by Dr. Louie Crew in rural Georgia in 1974, Integrity has been the leading grassroots voice for the Full Inclusion of GLBT Persons in The Episcopal Church and our equal access to its rites.

Seafarers's Center

Donation Coordination/Distribution

St. Stephen's participates in a Christmas outreach to the Seafarers Center on the Port of Houston to provide gift boxes for the seafarers that come to our port. Last year Carolyn Warren helped us collect over 90 boxes. This is an activity for all ages. For a shopping list and more details, click here.

Grace Place

Advocacy
Shelter and Housing

Grace Place is an organization that serves homeless youth in the Montrose area of Houston. It was founded by members of Grace Lutheran Church in 2009, and became a separately incorporated 501 (c )3 organization in 2011. Its mission is not to evangelize, convert, judge or shame, but to provide a safe, welcoming environment for vulnerable homeless youth (between the ages of 13 and 21 years of age) of all sexualities and gender identities, providing nourishment, healthy relationships and hope for the future. One night a week, Montrose Grace Place is a place of dignity and respect for homeless youth, providing them with a good meal, creative activities, referrals to social services and healing relationships with safe, accepting adults.

Stand Up For Kids

Shelter and Housing

The mission of Stand Up For Kids - Houston is to help Houston's homeless youth and end the cycle of youth homelessness. It is part of a national organization that does this, every day, in cities across America. It carries out its mission through volunteers who go to the streets in order to find, stabilize and otherwise help homeless and street kids improve their lives.  The local organization spends one night a week doing Outreach and one night a week providing a drop-in center for homeless teens and young adults.  The drop-in center provides dinner, access to computers, clothing and other necessities.

Christian Community Service Center

Donation Coordination/Distribution

Christian Community Service Center CCSC provides many services to many people. The efforts best known at St. Stephen's are the Jingle Bell Express and the Back to School drives. We also collect food for their food bank and needed clothing. CCSC also runs the Sunshine Resale Shop in the Bellaire Triangle.

Interfaith Ministries

Career Services and Education

Interfaith Ministries Interfaith Ministries (IM) brings people of diverse faith traditions together for dialogue, collaboration and service creating a community of faith working and acting together in response to the Divine call to create a more just, compassionate, and caring society. Meals on Wheels is one of the programs sponsored by this organization and was an important outreach during this last hurricane.

Amazing Place

Aging, Health and Wellbeing

Amazing Place The mission of Amazing Place is to provide fellowship, memory care and wellness for adults with mild to moderate memory loss and support to their families and the community. St Stephen's was one of the founding churches for Senior's Place which has been in operation since 1996. As the needs grew the facility has expanded 3 times, the latest in 2010 with the opening of a new state-of-the-art facility specifically designed to meet participant and family needs at 3735 Drexel Drive. With the updated mission and new facility the name was updated to Amazing Place. Mike Robson and Madeline Mauk represent St. Stephen's on the board and there are plenty of Angel and volunteer opportunities at Amazing Place, a truly amazing place.
