St. Alban’s was founded in 1945, became a parish in 1955 and elected mission status in 1996 to start a new Hispanic congregation and ministry. The church sits in a prime location inside Loop 610 North and I-45 in the middle of a deed-restricted residential community called Lindale Park. Most of our members live five to twenty-five miles away. Our main growth continues to be their neighbors and extended family members, although we regularly reach out to the area surrounding the church. Our Spanish-speaking congregation is composed mainly of 1st-generation immigrant Central Americans, the majority of whom are from El Salvador and Mexico. All share equally in the worship, leadership and ministry of the church, translating between English and Spanish when needed. Although we are challenged by being situated on a fairly small piece of property with parking only on the street, we offer a large churchyard for the use of the neighborhood in which there is no city park.

Ministries
SENIORS DAY
Each Tuesday a team of members host community seniors (over 55 and ambulatory or with a caretaker) for fun, food and fellowship. Seniors sit and talk, play bingo, table and board games, and are provided a hot meal. Opens at 9:30 AM, closes at 2:30 PM.
SEAFARERS CENTER, PORT OF HOUSTON
Annually we gather donations, pack and wrap from 50 to 60 shoeboxes filled with usable personal goods like toiletries, games, snacks and art supplies. These boxes are delivered to the Seafarers Center at Thanksgiving to be distributed by their Chaplains to ships at port in December.
DUNN CENTER AT THE BEACON
This is a ministry to the homeless at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Houston. We collect food donations weekly and deliver them to the center for use in feeding the homeless who come there.
