Ministries

Food Pantry

Food Pantries

St. Paul's Food Pantry is open every Wednesday and serves residents of Newport and surrounding Campbell County communities.  Positive identification for all members of the household is required.  The Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays beginning at 5:30 p.m. until roughly 7:30 p.m.  Appointments to avoid lines are offered in person beginning at 4 p.m.  The pantry is a choice model pantry meaning that pantry guests choose which food items they would desire based on household size and food groups.

Health Care Initiative

Aging, Health and Wellbeing

St. Paul's houses a Health Care Initiative meaning that on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. registered nurses from St. Elizabeth are on hand and meet with those wanting to speak to and work with a healthcare professional. Many health care services are provided and referrals are available for those in need of a higher level of care.

Cooking Matters

Aging, Health and Wellbeing

Several times a year, St. Paul's hosts Cooking Matters, a six-week course teaching people the basics of how to cook healthy and nutritiously.  It is loads of fun and free.

Kentucky Firefighter Peer Support

Advocacy

St. Paul's proudly supports Kentucky Firefighter Peer Support, a non-profit formed by the Rector and four other firefighters, that trains and deploys firefighters and paramedics as peer supporters to those first responders challenged by acute stress, post-traumatic stress, and life's challenges.

Northern Kentucky Reading Camp

Career Services and Education

St. Paul's members are active and involved with Northern Kentucky Reading Camp sponsored by the Episcopal Churches in Northern Kentucky.  Reading camp serves children who are behind in their reading abilities with a week of reading and fun annually in July.

Adopt a Class

Career Services and Education

Many St. Paul's members serve young people with physical and material needs in Newport Schools along with tutoring and advocacy.

St. Paul's Community Garden

Creation Care/Community Gardens

St. Paul's has 16 raised bed gardens on site allowing members the community to produce food that is healthy and good not only for themselves but for those in need.  The initiative now has 200 such gardens in the City of Newport.
