St. John's is a vibrant parish that comes together in beauty and grace to celebrate and share the gifts of God. We strive, with God's help, to listen, connect, serve and grow.
At St. John's, we seek to create and offer exciting opportunities to make spiritual connections with God and with one another. That offer is made to both members and visitors alike. The clergy and lay leadership of St. John's hopes that those connections will be meaningful and lasting for each and every one of us.
We invite you to visit St. John's, a crossroad where faith meets fellowship. You'll find that, whatever the reason you make your way to our big red doors - whether for a Sunday morning service, weekday Bible study class, or one of the many concerts, cultural events and educational programs we host throughout the year on weekends - everyone here at St. John's will be glad to see you. And we'll make you feel so welcome that you will want to come back again...soon.
Thank you for visiting St. John's website. We hope that what you read, see and hear on these pages will encourage you to stop in at the parish. At St. John's we're eager to explore with you the many ways we might make our unique ministry as significant, uplifting and rewarding a part of your daily life as it is of ours.

Community Service
Working Together To Serve Our Community
St. John's Community Service Committee's mission is to develop active connections with our community and neighbors and concentrate on programs that contribute in a hands-on way using our time and talents as well as our building and resources.
We focus on four areas:
-
Food - Preparing and serving meals/food collections
-
Housing - Sponsoring housing initiatives and building projects
-
Literacy - Supporting adult and youth programs
-
Basic Needs - on-going collections for basic needs
In addition to our formal outreach activities, many St. John's parishioners volunteer on boards of non-profit agencies that meet local needs. We welcome the participation of anyone who wants to share in our community service and outreach activities. For more information, contact the church office at: office@sjparish.net.
Global Missions
Serving others throughout the world
Santa Cruz Episcopal Church
Saint Sauveur
The Global Missions Committee completed a Mission Trip to Cuba in April, 2012. For more information, visit the 2012 Mission Trip page.
The mission of St. John's Global Missions Committee is to promote an awareness of all of God's people around the world, to build global connections where God reveals the opportunity, and to develop meaningful relationships with our Christian brothers and sisters abroad.
The Global Missions Committee works with a companion parish in Cuba, Santa Cruz del Norte, and supports a parish school, Saint Sauveur, in Les Cayes, Haiti.
Global Missions was established at the annual meeting in 1999 under the umbrella of St. John's Outreach Committee. It originated from contacts established during a Honduras clothing drive by Ms. Evica and Ms. Montas who sought to address the needs of our neighbors in the Caribbean community. The committee has existed autonomously since 2002. It reports directly to the Vestry and works closely with a Vestry Liason. The group generally meets once a month as announced in the church calendar. Over the years, membership has varied from 6-10 people and has had the generous participation from several non-members working on its programs.
The committee welcomes new members of all ages. Join us and bring your talents, interests, and concerns about the world in which we live. Contact the clergy or any Global Missions member for more information.
Sacred Ground Race Dialogue Circles
Sacred Ground is dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race, racism, and whiteness while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. The 10-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.
Sacred Ground is a resource coming out of Becoming Beloved Community, The Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society. This series is especially designed to help white people talk with other white people, while being open to all racial/ethnic groups. Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day – all while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love.
