Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church was founded on January 24th, 1959 (St. Timothy's Patronal Feast Day) as a mission church. A family home on 12 acres of land, donated by the congregation of the nearby St. James' Episcopal Church, housed all services and church school programs for the first three years. The present church building, with a seating capacity of 320, was constructed and dedicated in June of 1962. The first section of the current Parish Hall was dedicated in September of 1966 and the final stage was completed in 1975. St. Timothy's was admitted as a parish in 1968. In 1979 the Dioces of Western Louisiana was formed where St. Timothy's remains as a parish to this day.
St. Timothy's has celebrated some notable "firsts" over the years. The first woman elected to a vestry in the Diocese of Louisiana was Charter member Doris Perkins (1972) and one of the two first female Lay Eucharistic Ministers in the Diocese of Louisiana is Charter member Lorena Derbonne (1975).

Volunteer opportunities
St. Timothy's raises and distributes needed supplies for homeless people in the area through the H2O Homeless Project. Needed supplies are also raised for Christmas Boxes and the local Horseshoe Drive Elementary School. Many members volunteer at the local Manna House (meal distribution) and other outreach ministries. Missional opportunities are available to Honduras on a yearly basis.
