The story of Marble Falls Trinity Episcopal Church is one of growth, inspired by and realized through the power of the Holy Spirit. Evidence of this growth is multifaceted.
- Expansion from Mission status (1955) Parish status (1991);
- Expansion of the physical plant from small sanctuary, narthex, and kitchen to new sanctuary, narthex, kitchen, classrooms, offices, and nursery (2002-2005)
- Addition of fellowship hall, expanded sanctuary and narthex space (Dick and Marian Repert bequest--2011-2015);
- Expansion to Multi-clergy staff: Rev. Dave Sugeno, Rector, 2009-present; and Rev. Cathy Boyd, Associate Rector (2013–present);
- Addition of informal worship service on first Wednesday nights;
- Increased focus on outreach to community, evidenced by $75,000 grant program for non-profits, doubled funding for outreach in annual budget, addition of new ministries, and priority use of fellowship hall for outreach
- Spiritual growth of congregation, achieved through strong education for Ministry participation, adult and youth formation, parish book club; women’s Bible study, men’s Bible study.
These indicators of growth show a vibrant church endeavoring to follow Christ through the ministries of worship, education, and service. In so doing, through God’s grace, may we become a major Christian presence in the Highland Lakes area, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Trinity Marble Falls serves a small town and the surrounding rural area located in the Highland Lakes region of the state. The school system that serves the same general area as Trinity has approximately 60% of students who are eligible for the free and reduced price lunch program. A large majority of the students are white, Hispanic students are next in numerical order, and then African American students form a much smaller percentage. The principal sources of jobs in the area are associated with either the tourist or mining industry. Approximately 20% of the residents are over 65 and retired. The Highland Lakes and golf courses provide ample attractions for both tourism and for retirement living.
