St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church

Share a story

Open, inclusive parish with thoughtful and generous people who are united in worship, especially when they disagree about politics, theology, or matters of opinion. Ever thoughtful and willing to ask hard questions that may not have easy answers or definitive answers at all, the people at St Thomas value and invest in their community through collections, contribution, tutoring, a Thrift Shop, a Fall Festival, as partners with McWhirter Elementary, Habitat for Humanity, Bay Area Turning Point, and Interfaith Caring Ministries. The church celebrates burials and weddings for non-members and has a first class after school and summer camp enrichment program for all ages. Art, music, and beauty are evident at every service. We can and are doing more together.

Through various monthly outreach projects, we send money to many various charities. We collect food for Interfaith Caring Ministries. We participate in Habitat for Humanity. We send a group to the Dunn Center to serve Houston's homeless on a monthly basis. Our ECW's Nearly New Shop raises money exclusively for Various Outreach ministries and then donates unsold items to St. Vincent House in Galveston. The Brotherhood of St. Andrew provides dental supplies and blankets to the Dunn Center. The youth provide various services around Houston. We provide school supplies for local school. We raise money for ERD and have an Advent gift Market for various 501c3 charities.
