St. Augustine of Hippo Galveston

Share a story

The current Church structure was build after the hurricane of 1900 which devastated Galveston Island.  It is a wooden structrure in a traditional style.  Connected to the Church, and immediately behind it, is the sacristy, offices, parlor and vesting room.  You pass from there to Sutton Hall which is connected to the classroom wing, Bright Davies Hall. Both of these were totally redone after Hurricane Ike in 2008. The complex is in a horse shoe shape with a lawn in between.  Behind the complex is a community garden.
