Life Together: Diomass Intern Program

Share a story

The Life Together Community is inspired by the ancient prophet Micah’s call to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly.” We are a Christian community of artists, activists, scholars, and ministers committed to both personal and social change. We believe God has a dream of liberation of all people and we are called to play a part in making this dream a reality. Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of prayerful and prophetic leaders, through integrating the contemplative, prophetic and communal practices of inspired leadership.

Life Together offers 18 first-year placements and also offers 4 spots for 2nd-year fellows to go deeper into community life, leadership development and contemplative practices. Fellows live in houses with 3-7 other housemates.

Fellows range in age from 21 to 32 and come from a diverse range of racial, economic, geographic, and religious backgrounds. Each fellow has demonstrated a deep commitment to spiritual growth and working for social justice.

Life Together fellows work 32 hours each week in schools, non-profit organizations, or churches. Some of the social impact areas for Boston fellows include education reform, youth leadership, healthcare reform, and environmental justice. There are opportunities for community organizing, direct service, or public policy work.

Fellows also spend one day per week developing the leadership skills, spiritual depth, and relationships that support Life Together fellows to become more prayerful and prophetic leaders. Fellows serve from mid-August through June.
