Trinity Episcopal Day School

Trinity Episcopal Day School is a progressive preschool/elementary school beginning with a four-year old program and continuing through fifth grade. The school is very traditional with the feeling of a small neighborhood school. The school operates at the pleasure of the Vestry with the Board of Trustees and the Rector setting policies and the Head of School serving as the administrator.
Most students at Trinity are drawn from the university and southern sections of the city. The school population is very diverse with many siblings in attendance.
Trinity Episcopal Day School has an excellent reputation in the community. Our academic program is strong in the basics, with reading at the core of the curriculum. Extra curricular classes include French, physical education, music, library, computers, art and religion. Emphasis is also placed on developmentally appropriate instruction at each grade level.
The faculty is made up of fully certified, well-experienced teachers; there is little faculty turnover. Our parents are an integral part of the school with a Parents' Volunteer Guild to assist the administration when called upon.
Religious exposure is not only in the classroom, under the direction of the religious education teacher, but also at weekly school chapel services. Episcopalian doctrine is not specifically taught, but Christian philosophy permeates all teachings. Although the school is made up of children of many denominations, the religious emphasis is a major reason for our existence.
