St. Mary's Episcopal Church and Outreach Mission

Rooted in the historic Springfield neighborhood of Jacksonville since 1913, St. Mary's is an Episcopal parish that affirms the radical hospitality of Jesus who invites everyone to his table, who dines with saints and sinners, with believers and doubters. Our worship is traditional but down-to-earth, recognizing the beauty of our ancient prayers and practices while remaining connected to real world concerns. We believe Jesus calls us to prioritize the poor, the outsider, the oppressed, and all who suffer. We wholeheartedly affirm the dignity and belovedness of LGBTQIA+ people. 

We see a short, straight line from the Holy Communion which nourishes us every Sunday to our direct efforts to address food insecurity in our city. Our commitment to anti-poverty work over the last 60 years is now reflected in "The Market at St. Mary's," our best-in-class food pantry which provides full choice of fresh and frozen foods, including seasonal organic produce from our gardens, in a neighborhood market environment. While shoppers must have an appointment, the Market is accessible to all people without exception. 

In the Jacksonville area, St. Mary's is a hub for Urban Ministry. It is our joy to welcome youth and adult volunteers from around the Diocese of Florida and from other faiths into the work God has given us to do.
