Grace is a joyful, affirming Episcopal Community rooted in the love of God and all of God's creation. We strive to cultivate an open, inclusive environment for all who would come - embracing people of every race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, ability, education level, and religious background. Our understanding of the Bible calls us to acknowledge the inherent dignity of every human being, and we believe that Jesus' love extends to all. In our view, diversity was God's idea in the first place! At Grace you will find that our parishioners and clergy come from all walks of life: lifelong Tennesseans and immigrants, trans and cis, queer and straight, poor and wealthy, liberal and conservative.
The grounds at Grace encompass a 23 raised- bed community garden, various certified wildlife and pollinator habitats, a Level Two Certified Arboretum (Tennessee Urban Forestry Council), native plantings, a monitored bluebird trail, free U- Pick gardens, and Saturday farmers' market offering double- SNAP credits for food purchases.

Sacred Ground Race Dialogue Circles
Sacred Ground is dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race, racism, and whiteness while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. The 10-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.
Sacred Ground is a resource coming out of Becoming Beloved Community, The Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society. This series is especially designed to help white people talk with other white people, while being open to all racial/ethnic groups. Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day – all while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love.
Green Grace
A group of volunteer gardeners maintains the campus as an urban arboretum and wildlife habitat. We also provide space for community gardens, free gardens and a weekly farmers' market. Members are engaged in environmental advocacy and environmental education offerings, along with local clean-up, land management and environmental stewardship efforts.
ShowerUp Truck
Volunteers staff a mobile shower truck twice a month, providing hot showers, hygiene items and other necessities.
Grace Community Pantry
The pantry is open second and fourth Tuesdays from 10am-1pm, providing shelf-stable foods.
Life Planning Team
The Grace Life Planning Team provides resources, information, workshops and pastoral care around aging, planning for life transitions, and end-of life decision-making.
CALEB core team
Grace is a member of CALEB (Chattanoogans in Action for Love, Equity and Benevolence), a coalition of faith communities, nonprofits, unions and leaders working to build power and bring about systemic change in Chattanooga and surrounding communities around education, criminal justice and economic opportunity.
