The Cumberland Adult Reading Council is an adult literacy program that works to improve the basic skills of adults in reading, writing, math, and speaking and comprehending English. They help each adult student to achieve their individually established learning goals by means of individual and small group instruction; to strengthen and support the Reading Council's capacity to provide literacy instruction and services to the community, and to promote a community culture that supports increased literacy.
