Trinity Episcopal Parish
Share a story
Trinity Parish draws people from a variety of backgrounds, with diverse interests and perspectives. We worship in two locations and two languages, yet we are one welcoming, dynamic parish dedicated to worshiping and serving God in an urban setting. We are connected through a love of beautiful, varied liturgy and through opportunities in which we minister to one another within the parish and to those in the greater community.
Over 300 Years of Faith in the City!
We live our Christian and Episcopal faith through worship and active participation in the life and work of Trinity Parish. Our parish offers diverse and compelling opportunities for Christian ministry within the parish and in serving others through outreach ministries. Our members commit time, talents and treasure to the ministries they are moved to serve.

Ministries
TRIAD
The TRIAD ministry was founded in 1976 and serves those who are chemically dependent and those who are affected by chemical addiction.
As part of the ministry of Trinity Parish, TRIAD provides information and counseling for the physical, emotional and spiritual effects of drug and alcohol abuse for the individual and family. TRIAD also offers Referral Services, data on relapse prevention and ACOA (Adult Children of Alcoholics) issues.
The services of TRIAD are free and especially beneficial to persons who are uninsured or those in transition from the Department of Corrections. Our licensed addiction counselor works part-time and sees clients at no charge. TRIAD's clientele includes the uninsured or those seeking anonymity in their addiction recovery.
Delaware Futures
Delaware Futures prepares economically disadvantaged youth for college by providing academic, social, motivational support and cultural enrichment activities throughout their high school experience. Upon high school graduation, students who meet the academic requirements qualify for partial or full tuition scholarships to one of ten partnering colleges.
Our History
In the fall of 1993, members from two Episcopal congregations, Trinity Parish and St. Matthew's Church joined together to initiate a project that would serve the educational needs of city youth.
Using the very successful John Laws Institute of Worcester, Massachusetts as a model, the committee designed a comprehensive enrichment and support program to work intensively with a small number of high school students each year to prepare for college. A key benefit of the program is the guarantee of free college tuition for all program graduates.
By the spring of 1994, the organization committee had succeeded in attracting significant interest from funders, the business community and the educational community, including area colleges and universities. The original planning group was expanded to include representatives from the higher education and business communities and the community at large. With a start-up grant from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, and office and program space donated by Trinity Parish, we began to recruit the first class of students and set up the various program components.
Delaware Futures is housed in a building attached to Trinity Church.
