Contemplative Prayer

Faith Formation

We promote a deeper relationship with God through the quiet of Centering Prayer and lectio divina.  We find that it is helpful to set this time aside to listen to the Spirit in the quiet and stillness, while in the presence of others who are doing the same.  We often use the Gospel from the weekly lectionary for lectio divina and individuals are encouraged to share if they wish.  The group is open to anyone who wishes to attend the group, whether they attend St. John’s or not.

Christian Formation: Sunday School

Children and Youth Ministries

A variety of Christian Formation programs are offered for all ages.  Volunteers are always welcome to assist with children’s classes and programs.

Our students meet at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday September through May, and for special service projects. Our church has a designated space for the Children's Chapel for the use of the children and their family members.

Our Sunday School students were recognized in 2023 for their fundraising efforts to support the children of the Ukraine. Our group raised over $2k to help provide the children with books, supplies and etc. This fundraising idea came from the children and was managed by the children.

Daughters of the King

Evangelism

As Daughters of the King, we are women of courage who have made a commitment to serve God our King.  We wear crosses as an outward and visible sign that we cannot live a day without Christ in our lives.  We see our Order as a community of nurturing women, accepting all people, bridging differences and cherishing traditions. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision is to encourage and enable all to be reflections of God’s love, reaching out through prayer, service and evangelism to spread His Kingdom.

Family Food Share

Food Pantries

We are always looking for more helping hands to keep this outreach program up and running.

Volunteers meet just once a month, on the last Sunday of each month, and work collectively to shop, assemble, pack, and delivery food to individuals and families in need.

The main goal of the Family Food Share ministry is to assist food-insecure families in the Bloom Trail High School district.

Faith Formation

Challenging and maybe edgy … we will be studying the history of Anglicanism (a Christian tradition that emerged from the Church of England during the English Reformation. We look to balance biblical authority with a sense of historical continuity and a commitment to finding a middle ground between different theological perspectives)
Topics will change regularly as the class moves through  the church year.
Class participants will choose the topics as we move forward.
