St. John’s Concludes Episcopal Identity Workshop, Prepares for Diocesan Event
Last Sunday, St. John’s Episcopal Church in Homestead, Florida, celebrated the completion of its first formation workshop on the history, identity, and traditions of the Episcopal Church. The initiative arose from the need to introduce many new members to the foundations of the denomination.
The workshop was proposed by the Reverend Licia B. Affer, Canon to the Ordinary of the Episcopal Church in Southeast Florida, and was delivered over four sessions by Ahmed Otero, a university professor with academic training in English history and experience in worship and lay formation.
Following its success, the Diocesan Hispanic Committee has decided to expand the initiative. A diocesan-wide version of the workshop will be held on Saturday, December 6, once again at St. John’s.
