Jazz Vespers with Cyrus Chestnut

St. Luke's is excited to announce that we will be celebrating Jazz Vespers with one of the greatest jazz pianists of this generation, Cyrus Chestnut.  Cyrus Chestnut presently serves as Master Instructor of Jazz Piano and Improvisation in the Department of Music at Howard University.  This service will take place outside on the eve of Pentecost, Saturday June 4th, 2022 at 5pm.  There is a rain date of June 5th, 2022.  In addition to jazz great Cyrus Chestnut, our preacher will be Pastor Harvey Carey a pastor and speaker who teaches throughout the world on the Holy Spirit.  Pastor Carey leads Citadel of Faith Church in the inner-city of Detroit.  St. Luke's has formed a partnership with Citadel of Faith, holding Zoom calls twice a month focusing on Bible Study, reading books, sharing resources and talking about racial reconciliation across political and ideological differences, seeking to affirm our unity in Jesus Christ.
