The Dream Team and the Public Church

Grace Episcopal Church community has been on an exciting journey beginning in 2018. What would our neighborhood look and feel like if we were no longer in the building and what would the building become. Who are our neighbors and how do we show up as a neighbor in our community. These questions have lead to our front lawn becoming a space for our neighbors, our pre-school renter community, for young adults living in apartments with no shared green space. Our Read in Color: Little Free Libraries, Our Food Pantry Box, and our Prayer Box have not only been an extension of what happens inside the church building but also connecting with our neighbors.  As the the boxes are filled by church goers they are also filled by our neighbors as an extension of their homes, families, and communities. We have spent time with our neighbors sharing in ice cream and hearing where God is at work in our neighborhood and finding ways to be part of that work as we follow the way of Jesus on our journey and community and actions filled with God's Unconditional Love.
