Creativity in action: A diorama for Holy Week

For the second consecutive year, St. John’s Church in Homestead, Florida, is getting creative in celebrating Holy Week with a diorama depicting the Passion. This impactful method of teaching through visual storytelling has significantly influenced the congregation, many of whom now have a clearer understanding of the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. The schoolchildren, in particular, find the diorama engaging and motivating. In fact, plans are in place to involve students starting next December, allowing them to create some of the diorama elements themselves. Ahmed Otero, the creator of the dioramas, also serves as the Senior Warden and is currently discerning a call to the priesthood.
