Cold Weather Shelter at Grace Church

The City of Ellensburg decided to partner with Grace Episcopal Church to provide a more reliable and predictable cold weather shelter for residents. Previously, the city used multiple churches, which presented logistical challenges. The new arrangement provides a single location, making it easier for both guests and the shelter operators. The church offered the property for lease, and the city saw it as an opportunity to improve the cold weather shelter program. The community has generally been supportive of the new shelter.

One of the missions of Grace Church is to help the marginalized, and this clearly provides a means for a safe, warm, consistent and reliable place for our community neighbors to be at night.
