The Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida is a vibrant community of faith serving congregations across Florida’s Gulf Coast, from Brooksville in the north to Marco Island in the south. Comprising more than 75 parishes, missions, worshiping communities, and Episcopal schools, the diocese connects thousands of Episcopalians in a shared mission of worship, service, formation, and outreach. Currently led by its sixth bishop, The Right Reverend Douglas F. Scharf, the diocese is part of The Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion, welcoming people from all backgrounds to grow in faith and community.
Guided by a vision of “faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, partnering together to foster oneness and mutual flourishing,” the Diocese of Southwest Florida equips congregations to transform communities through ministries that support spiritual formation, youth and young adult engagement, leadership development, multicultural outreach, disaster preparedness, and charitable service. Through its churches, schools, camps, and community partnerships, the diocese seeks to share the loving, liberating, and life-giving message of Jesus Christ while strengthening the well-being of the communities it serves.
