You're Invited!

Whatever your background, you have a place with us. We are a congregation drawn from many ethnic, theological, economic, and political backgrounds. Our congregation welcomes diversity within our midst, just as our Creator has celebrated diversity. We truly are a house of prayer for all people!

The Church of the Ascension is blessed with an historic church building and an active congregation that emphasizes ministry to young people. Our warm and vibrant worship blends the Episcopal tradition with contemporary spirituality. We are active in the broader life of our community and support numerous outreach projects.

Our order of worship is drawn from the Book of Common Prayer of the Episcopal Church in the United States. The Book of Common Prayer is made up entirely of direct quotes and paraphrases of Holy Scripture. During worship, everyone present is encouraged to share Christ’s peace and to receive the bread and wine of communion. We believe these actions of community inclusion are fundamental to Christian worship. We join hands with those around us for the Our Father, another act of community inclusion. Children of all ages are encouraged to participate as fully as possible in our worship.
