Trinity+St Peter's Episcopal Church

Share a story

Trinity Church is a magnficent building, landmark #65 in San Francisco, with a proud history of exquisite worship and advocacy for social justice. We are the motherchurch of the Episcopal denomination in the West, dating back from 1848 and house the original bishop's chair as well as priceless stain glass and other art treasures. On Sunday morning, you will hear the 1926 Skinner organ in all its glory as well as an impressive choir. However, despite our emphasis on beautiful Anglican liturgy, we are not stuffy. On Sunday morning you will find a mix of young adults, elders, gay and straight, trans and not, old timers and newcomers. We also have a regular contingent of street people.

If you are looking for opportunities to get plugged into service to the community, you have also come to the right place. We make lunches together for Open Cathedral, servce dinner at the Community Supper and Interfaith Shelter. We support Street Soccer and Braid Ministry to foster kids and many other community value programs. We have an active group for young adults. And finally, we have a candlelight service of Taize on Wednesday evening, followed by conversation and cookies. All are welcome!!
