St. Benedict's is a non-profit charitable organization and an Institution of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado. We draw on the Benedictine spiritual values of compassion, hospitality and respecting the dignity of all.
We organize and maintain a cadre of volunteer health professionals to provide free health clinics to the medically underserved in Boulder County. We focus on medical screenings for heart disease and diabetes, foot and wound care, and treatment of acute illnesses or injuries. We work to connect patients to ongoing primary and specialty care.
St. Benedict's, was founded in 2003 by the Rev. Sally Bowersox, an Episcopal priest and a Registered Nurse. She served as Executive Director until mid-2018. Volunteers and donors from Episcopal churches in Boulder County support this ministry, and St. John's Episcopal Church in Boulder is a host site for a clinic on the first Sunday of every month.
