St. Peter's Episcopal Church

Share a story

St. Peter's Episcopal Church is located in Clearfield about 30 miles North of Salt Lake City.  It is a family sized parish with a variety of ministries in the parish.  Most Sundays ( exception - 1st Sun. of each month) there is a breakfast offered to everyone, beginning at 8:30 AM.  On the first Sunday of each month, there is a Brunch following the Worship Service.  Men gather for social time about once a month.  The Ladies lunch is held the fourth Thursday of each month.

One of the most important ministries of St. Peter's is its sponsorship in assisting Lincoln Elementary School.  Lincoln is located about 1 mile from the church.  It is a public school with a very high percentage of low-income and below poverty level families.  St. Peter's provides books each year for the school's library - more than 2000 of them this past year.  The church provides volunteers and food and finacial support for special reading nights at the school.  Bookbags and food for kids to take home for the weekends are also items that the church supplies.  School supplies and outerwear are donated to the school in the fall.  A special library and supply room is located at the church so that children and their families may find coats, hats, gloves, food items and more books throughout the year.  Family dinners with game nights take place as well.

The parish supports the local Food Bank through its Fish and Loaves Ministry.  Parish members pack Blessing Bags to give to people they encounter who need help. There are several AA groups that meet at the church.

The parish has members of all ages, and persuasions.  Worship Services, while following the liturgy of the church, often enjoys choir music from other traditions.  At the heart of every activity and social gathering is a deep faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of ALL.  The people are very welcoming and love meeting new people.  By visiting St. Peter's, it is easy to experience the parish's vision statement; "Spirit Inspired Service."
