OUR MISSION

St. Andrew’s is an inclusive, Sacramental, grace-filled family rooted in the Episcopal tradition experiencing and sharing God’s transformative love through Jesus Christ in Rapid City.   We are an LGBQT2S+ affirming community where all of God's children are welcome to full sacramental equality.

When you come to St. Andrew’s you will find a caring and hospitable group of people who are dedicated to spreading the transformative love of God through Jesus Christ. We come from all over Rapid City and the Black Hills area to worship and fellowship with each other. We love to sing which adds prayer and praise to our Sunday morning Eucharist. We can also be quiet so that we are meditative and contemplative.  We love to cook and find any excuse to share stories and break bread together.  We love to laugh and have many events during our calendar year outside our worship that enhances our life as a parish family.

Most of all, we are committed to serving others in our own congregation and in our neighborhood and communities in which we live.  Many of our members are dedicated to outreach efforts locally, nationally and internationally.  Our Eucharistic Visitors minister to those who are sick at home or in the hospital.  We are always searching for new ways to seek and serve Jesus Christ in all people.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church welcomes people of every race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, age, physical and mental ability, national origin, economic station, and political ideology to full participation in the life of our community.

Full participation in the life of our community includes all members, without exception, being fully eligible to participate in the sacraments, blessings, benefits and responsibilities of church membership” including Holy Eucharist, baptism, marriage, ordination, and all offices and positions of leadership.

St Andrew's is located on the historic and unceded territory of the Oceti Sakowin - the Seven Council Fires of the Lakota, Dakota, and Dakota peoples.  We commit ourselves to being good neighbors, relatives, friends, and repairers of the breech.
