St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is an open, inclusive, and welcoming community founded on April 10, 1817 and located at is current address since 1831. The current building dates from 1884. It was designed by the noted Detroit architect Gordon W. Lloyd in the Gothic Revival style and has been described as “incomparably the finest Episcopal church in any country town.” The first service was held in the church on December 19, 1884.
We are a constituent parish of the Diocese of Ohio, the Episcopal Church, and the Anglican Communion.
We recognize that the Altar is God’s Table, not our own. Therefore, all who come seeking Christ at St. Paul’s Parish are invited and welcomed to join us in receiving the Blessed Sacrament.
If you are seeking a spiritual home, we invite you to visit us and, if you like what you find, to join us.
Our worship style is moderately high, contemporary but reverent: all services utilize Rite II (contemporary English). Music is drawn mainly from the Hymnal 1982, but we do make use of other resources.
St. Paul’s Parish exists to advance the Kingdom of God through liturgical worship, spiritual education, personal growth, and service to others.
Our reason for being is to set hearts on fire with Jesus Christ.
