Our Mission Statement
Our mission statement is simple ~
We are a community of faith:
Worshipping Christ
Growing Together
Serving Others
Our Vision Statement
St. Andrew’s is a place of fully devoted followers of Jesus who welcome, equip, and send people into our community and the world in order to bring others to Christ.
Our Beliefs
- We believe in the Triune God (Father, Jesus his Son, and the Holy Spirit). One God, three persons. Our salvation is found in Jesus Christ.
- We believe that the Bible speaks to us today, and is the inspired Word of God, and is authoritative in all areas of our live.
- We believe in the Creeds of the Church. Written during the first centuries of Christianity, the Creeds define the faith of the Church.
- We believe that the sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist (Holy Communion) are sacraments of the Lord. Other sacraments of our church include marriage, confirmation, ordination, reconciliation of a penitent (confession), and unction (the blessing of the sick.)
Our Values
As a community of faith, we value:
- One Another – We love and care for each other because Jesus loves and cares for us all.
- Evangelism – We share our hope in Jesus with all who wonder whether there is more to life than the world offers, no matter who they are or what they have done, and to show them that Jesus wants to meet us all in the lives we lead today.
- Episcopal Worship – We praise and glorify God in open, inviting, and refreshing worship.
- Children and Youth – We believe our children and youth are gifts from God to us all and we take seriously our responsibility to plant the seeds of faith in them.
- Transformation – We see God changing the lives of those who seek Him and loving the world through us.

Ministries
Christian Food Pantry
St. Andrew's is one of seven founders a continuing supporter of the ecumenical Christian Food Pantry located at the First Methodist Church 7 Chicago Street, Valparaiso. Nonperishable food items can be donated to "Karl the Kart" on Sundays and during office hours.
We Make Indiana
St. Andrew's is a founding member of the Porter County Chapter of We Make Indiana a non-partisan organization that unites faith communities and people of conscience to make Indiana more safe, healthy, and whole. We listen to the needs of our neighbors, research options and join with other faith communities to pursue solutions via relationship building with local and state leaders and decision makers.
Daybreak Men’s Shelter
Daybreak supports our unhoused neighbors in Valparaiso with a 24 bed primary shelter for men, coed overnight warming/cooling center, and a day center where individuals receive case management and support as they work towards attaining permanent housing. Volunteers are needed to assist shelter staff with overnight supervision or serve and prepare evening meals. Several times per year St. Andrew’s volunteers make and serve a dinner for Daybreak.
The God Pod at Porter County Jail
The Jail Ministry is intended to bring a group of inmates to God with bible studies and discussions. Parish members meet weekly and serve as instructors for the program.
Adopt a County Road
St. Andrew’s participates in Porter County’s Adopt-A-County Road Program by maintaining a two mile stretch of County Road 400 N (the extension of Vale Park Road to State Route 130). This program helps improve our quality of life by maintaining safe and clean roadways while keeping trash from contaminating soil and groundwater. We clean up four times per year.
