St. Margaret's Episcopal Church

Share a story

Saint Margaret's was originally founded to meet the needs of the rapidly growing population of southeast Charlotte. The idea to form a mission in this area originated in the Greater Episcopal Fellowship of Charlotte, an organization comprised of local clergy and lay leaders. On May 8, 1983, the mission's first service was held at Living Savior Lutheran Church. By August, the parishioners had petitioned the Bishop to name the church and on January 1984, the convention of the Diocese of North Carolina officially named it St. Margaret's into the union as a Mission. In 2003, the Vestry and Clergy of Saint Margaret's realized that a new, bigger home was needed. At that time, the Church undertook a Capital Campaign to raise money to build a new home. In the Spring of 2005, Saint Margaret's relocated to its current facility in Waxhaw, North Carolina. Father Todd's first Sunday at Saint Margaret's was August 10th, 2008. We are excited about our shared ministry together, and look forward to the new and exciting things God has planned for this Holy place. About Father Todd R.
