St. Mark's Episcopal Church

This is a community— of people who love each other, support each other, learn from each other, and enjoy being together.

This is a community of searchers. Intellectually curious, St Mark’s parishioners are skeptical about received tradition and conventional wisdom, but interested in learning from that tradition and the best of thinking—by enquiring, searching, exploring. To this end, we as a community work to educate ourselves about the Bible, Christian history, and modern research.

This is a spiritual community, moving through silence, conversation, prayer, and meditation to a heightened experience of the sacred, to approach the Throne of God, to rest in the deepest center of personal being.

This is a listening community, committed to hearing Christ in each other, in the Bible, and in current events.

This is a loving community that accepts each person as she or he is, and seeks to empower us to be what God has created us to be.

This is a community of doers, contributing enthusiastically to the needs of the larger community, its children, its poor, its aliens, and its elders.

This is a welcoming community, with hearts and arms wide open to those new, those returning, and those searching for a community in Christ.
