Our Mission…

“Grace Church of Plainfield is a welcoming and affirming Christian community characterized by diversity, worshiping, and praising God in the Anglican tradition and proclaiming the Gospel in word and deed in active discipleship.”

Welcome to Grace Episcopal Church!

The most important piece of information you could ever get from a website is this, “God is love; he who dwells in love is dwelling in God, and God in him.” (1 John 4.16)

In a world that can sometimes be judgmental and harsh, the most important thing we want people to remember about Christianity is this passage of scripture: “God is love.” And that is our goal at Grace Church – to be a parish that dwells in God’s love and our love for each other and our neighbor.

So, welcome to our website!  We are glad you are paying us a visit. There is a lot going on at Grace Church here in Plainfield, New Jersey! We would love to have your join us for worship on Sunday.

As you can read by our mission statement, we are diverse congregation. We claim and affirm this diversity as a gift from God. Through beautiful worship and praising God, we are equipped each week to serve God in our households, on the job and in our community.

We believe that when we gather each week at the altar to share in Christ’s gift of his body and blood and to give thanks for his sacrifice for us on the cross and his resurrection, we are united Christ and each other. With so many challenges facing us in this world, this union brings us peace and renewal.

This renewal gives us courage and strength to be reconciling, healing and peaceful disciples in the city of Plainfield.

We are followers of Jesus Christ who teaches us how to be disciples. When we follow him, we begin to live a life that is deeply rewarding, prayerful and caring. Come join us at Grace Church!

Meal Programs

Grace’s Kitchen Feeds the Hungry in the Greater Plainfield Community.

Grace’s Kitchen is open to serve hot, nutritious lunches to the hungry in our community during the last five days of every month, when many of them find themselves without sufficient funds to buy food.

Much gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who help prepare food and serve our guests at Grace’s Kitchen.

The soup kitchen could not continue to operate without the help of volunteers from St. Francis Dunellen, St. Mark’s Plainfield, Holy Cross North Plainfield, St. Paul’s Westfield, All Saints’ Scotch Plains, St. Bernard’s Bernardsville, St. John on the Mountain Bernardsville and Grace Plainfield.

For more information, please call (908)756-1520.
