Our beautiful chapel originally stood on the grounds of the Thompson Retreat Center in Creve Coeur, Missouri, and was then known as St. David's Chapel. It was due to be destroyed when the center was sold, but Chaumette Vineyard owners Hank and Jackie Johnson arranged to have it dismantled and rebuilt on the vineyard property near Ste. Genevieve, Missouri in 2002. It was gradually rebuilt on a beautiful wooded hillside with breathtaking views, and was re-consecrated as St. Vincent's-in-the-Vineyard in 2003 by the Rt. Reverend Wayne Smith, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri... with the caveat that it remain an All-Faiths Chapel, available to all.
In this spirit, regular services began on the first Sunday of July in 2007, and continue every Sunday at 11:15 a.m. Worship is always followed by a delightful meal at the Chaumette Grapevine Grill, along with wine and fellowship. The services are Episcopal in form, but communion is open to all... and the chapel itself is available for use at all other times by people of any faith. Our mission as an All-Faiths Chapel is to create an inclusive atmosphere of welcome for people from all traditions, and to study the world's great faith traditions in a spirit of fellowship and inquiry. We are a member of the Interfaith Partnership, and we also host guest speakers and hold retreats from time to time.
