St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

Share a story

Since 1965, St. Stephen’s has been a small but vibrant parish rooted in the life of northeast Wichita. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood and bordered by an elementary school, our church is more than a place of worship—it is a welcoming hub for community life. Our building hosts groups that gather daily, weekly, and monthly; neighborhood children play in our outdoor spaces; and our prairie walkways offer a peaceful path for neighbors, families, and four‑legged companions who visit our grounds each day. The land itself has become part of our ministry, inviting reflection, connection, and delight.

Our parish family is committed to strengthening the church’s mission by nurturing what we already do well and expanding our outreach in meaningful ways. From young children filling our Sunday schoolrooms to book clubs, fellowship groups, and a devoted Daughters of the King chapter, we are enriched by the wide range of ages and gifts within our walls.

Our commitment to the wider community takes many forms. We partner with a variety of local agencies and ministries that serve vulnerable neighbors, support families, and work for justice and dignity across Wichita. We support the elementary school in our neighborhood through school‑supply collections, coat drives, and other acts of care.
