St. Andrew's On-the-Sound Episcopal Church

St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound is a joyful, welcoming, and liturgically rooted community that has served the Wrightsville Sound and greater Wilmington area for over a century. Founded in the traditions of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion, we gather in a spirit of curiosity, compassion, and reverence to worship, serve, and grow together in faith.

Located just minutes from the coast, our congregation is shaped by a spirit of openness and hospitality. Our historic church traces its roots to Lebanon Chapel and continues to reflect the beauty of coastal life—a place where the peace of God meets the rhythm of the tide. We are known for our warm fellowship, deep love of liturgy, and commitment to service.

Our worship is centered around the Book of Common Prayer, Holy Scripture, and the Sacraments, especially the Holy Eucharist. We honor the traditions of the Church while engaging the world around us with inquisitive hearts and hopeful spirits. From children’s ministries and formation programs to outreach partnerships and community events, we live out our baptismal promises with joy and sincerity—always with God’s help.
