St. Brigit is a small community church with big plans. Set in the town of Frederick, the church sits on a 5 acre sight which includes the sanctuary, a fellowship hall, an administrative building, and an external Labyrinth. St. Brigit serves the town of Frederick and the tri-town area, and is in affilliation with two non-profit organizations. Brigit's Bounty is a community garden that teaches local children about sustainable gardening practices through a summer day camp program. Food grown in the garden is available to volunteers, and the rest is donated to a local food pantry. In 2016, a ton of fresh produce was donated through this program. You can visit https://www.brigitsbounty.org for more information. The second non-profit is Brigit's Village, a housing development for low-income families and seniors which is still in the planning stages. St. Brigid was an Irish saint, and the church reflects this Celtic heritage by exploring various elements of Celtic spiritual practices. Solstices and Equinoxes are celebrated with special "Ait Caol" services. "Ait Caol" (Otch Kweel) is Gaelic for "a thin place", and these solar events were celebrated as a time when the veil between our world and the spirit world is especially thin. St Brigit celebrates these times of year as a special part of God's creation. A "Kirkin' of the Tartan" service is held annually, as well as a "Blessing of the Animals." Communal celebrations take the form of a Ceili (Kay-lee), a traditional Irish party which includes dancing, music, singing, and storytelling.
A new venture for 2017 is Celticfest, a Celtic festival open to all scheduled for September 30, 2017. More information about this event can be found at https://www.celticfestbrigit.org

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday School and Youth Group programs available during the service on Sunday mornings. The Sunday School program is organized to encourage learning and development about the Bible and the Christian faith during the week as well as on Sundays. Participants receive a weekly email with a short Bible passage to read, a prayer, and two short videos to watch. One video is a retelling of the Bible passage in story form, and the second is a short educational video which explains common questions children have about aspects of church life. The Bible passage is then discussed during the next Sunday School session at church.
