About Us
For over 100 years St. Agnes Church has been witnessing to the transforming power of God through Jesus Christ in Highlands County. Formed in 1923, the Church was named Good Shepard and served by visiting clergy. The name was changed in 1929 to honor the women of the St. Agnes Guild, who purchased the first church building that year.
The old St. Agnes Church was located on the south side of downtown Sebring, where St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church now stands, The present Church, with its unique A-frame shape and a commanding view of Lake Jackson, was built and dedicated in 1960.
While the grounds and Church are beautiful, it’s the people and our encounter with the Holy One here that makes St. Agnes a special place.
