Zion Episcopal Church

Share a story

Zion Episcopal Church is a place where love is the central teaching of the Gospel. The Episcopal Church strives to live by the message of Christ, in which there are no outcasts and all are welcome. Walking a middle way between Roman Catholicism and Protestant traditions, we are a sacramental and worship-oriented church that promotes thoughtful debate about what God is calling us to do and be, as followers of Christ. Visit our church to find out more because the best way to learn about the Episcopal Church is to become a part of it.   Come and Grow!

Zion Church, Hudson Falls, was incorporated in 1817 as the Episcopal-Methodist Church in what was then Sandy Hill.  Initially, Services were held in a parishioner’s home. When the Episcopal and Methodist Churches split, a new building was completed in 1849 and consecrated as Zion Episcopal Church in the newly-named village of Hudson Falls.  In 1968, just after Good Friday Services, lightning struck the church roof, causing a fire that left only the exterior stone walls.  The interior was then rebuilt.  As the parish grew, a Chapel, Parish Hall, suite of Sunday School rooms, and a full-service kitchen were added to accommodate ministries.   God has blessed Zion over and over: praise to You, Lord Jesus!
