DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MISSION TRIP

Mission Trips and Partnerships

Through Bishop Duncan and Trinity's own leadership, the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast has sponsored annual mission trips to build a school and provide routine maintenance to several churches across the Dominican Republic, in addition to the biannual medical missions that provide basic medications and primary care. In recent years, Trinity became a sister-church of San Andres with specific goals to remember these brothers and sisters weekly in prayer and to return every six months until the interior of the church has been completely refurbished with rebuilt pews. All finances have been run through a special Mission-Outreach account at Trinity.  Trinity sponsored two trips itself in 2010 sending team members to install water filtration systems to supply sanitary water for San Andres Church and School.

THE PANTRY

Food Pantries

"The Pantry" is a mission that has tripled in the need since the economic crisis of 2008. From our pantry we supply a bag of food per week to those who come to our door. We have volunteers who offer their time each week to bag groceries, dispense these bags, show hospitality, and offer compassion to all. A good portion of the food items that we are able to hand out are purchased at a large discount from the Bay Area Food Bank.  The Bay Area Food Bank supports more than 550 agencies in this area and provides much needed assistance during times of disaster.

OPERATION TOUCH

Aging, Health and Wellbeing

Through parish volunteers, the elderly and home-bound in our community are visited weekly for the sole purpose of extended fellowship. At Christmas, Easter ,and birthdays, each of these parishioners receive flowers of the season.

CASSEROLE MINISTRY

Meal Programs

What a wonderful way to support our friends that have been hospitalized, home bound, or just in need of a meal. The freezer is replenished weekly by wonderful cooks across the parish and then delivered by volunteers within the church.
