2025 Becoming Beloved Community Grant Recipient - The Africatown Truth and Repair Initiative

The Africatown Truth and Repair Initiative, Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast ($15,000)  

This project seeks to develop curriculum and other educational programs to share the story of a historic community within the city limits of Mobile, Alabama, that was formed following the Civil War by Africans transported in the last known shipment of enslaved people to the U.S. on the slave ship Clotilda.
