Welcome to the Episcopal Church of the Atonement in Westfield, MA, where we are "Drawn in by Grace and reaching out in Love."
Episcopal Church of the Atonement was founded in 1863 in the living room of a parishioner. Today we center our ministry in a neo-gothic building that holds church, offices, classrooms, and a multi-purpose room with stage. Our worship style is friendly, open, and traditional, with Holy Eucharist at 8 am and 10 am every Sunday and Healing and Holy Eucharist at 12:15 pm on Wednesdays. We love to sing! We offer Evensong every Thursday at 6:30 pm when the choir is in session, September through June. There is music at both Sunday services and choral scholars from Westfield State University grace our choir during the school year. Handbell choirs meet year round. Christian Formation is the work of everyone, so we have formal classes, meetings, and forums following the 10 am service most of the year, and occasional evening or Sunday afternoon series. The Westfield Farmers' Market is a neighborhood initiative of the parish and is open every Thursday afternoon, June through October. The annual Strawberry Festival is a once a year benefit that draws the parish together to raise money for projects in the Greater Westfield area. The parish also supports Diocesan efforts in Ghana, the Westfield Food Pantry and Community Table, the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Episcopal Relief and Development, the Heifer Project, and other outreach efforts as need arises.

Sacred Ground Race Dialogue Circles
Sacred Ground is dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race, racism, and whiteness while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. The 10-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.
Sacred Ground is a resource coming out of Becoming Beloved Community, The Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society. This series is especially designed to help white people talk with other white people, while being open to all racial/ethnic groups. Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day – all while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love.
