St. John's Episcopal Church

Share a story

Located in Savannah's historic center, St. John's is a community of Christians within the Episcopal Church, together seeking a deeper faith and service of Christ. Anchored by the historic Prayer Book (1928) in the classical Anglican tradition of doctrine and worship, St. John's is a spiritual home for those seeking dignity and reverence in worship together with fidelity to the Scriptures, warmth of fellowship, and a place to raise their families in the Christian religion.

The worship at St. John’s follows historic patterns of praise and prayer set forth in the 1928 American Prayer Book and the 1940 Episcopalian Hymnal, with some additional material that is compatible in style and content with these books. By intention it is formal, reserved, reverent, dignified, somewhat archaic, and conducted with a measure of ceremony and ornament, in outward expression of the call to “worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness”.

The church office's mailing address is  1 W Macon St, Savannah, GA 31401.

Volunteer opportunities

One time opportunities
Ongoing commitment opportunities

It is the outpouring of God’s love to us that inspires the true meaning of Christian Outreach. This is where our engagement with the wider community begins, and outside of worship, it takes many forms.

As a parish, we have been working with Urban Hope in Savannah and P.A.C.K., organizations that serve youth in the Savannah area, in addition to several others. To learn more and see videos of our parishioners sharing the volunteer work they do, visit https://stjohnssav.org/serve/outreach/
