All Saints Church was built and consecrated in 1964 on a gifted parcel of land on the corner of Spear and Swift Streets in South Burlington, Vermont. The goal of the architect, Marcel Beaudin, was to create an ethereal and other-worldly worship atmosphere, which was accomplished by floor to ceiling walls of variegated blue glass on the entire north and south sides of the nave.
An addition built in 1972 provides offices and a meeting space for events. The Louise Room (1100 sq. ft.) and Undercroft (1700 sq. ft.) are lower level rooms. The Deforest Room (450 sq. ft.) is on the upper level and is wheelchair-accessible, as is the Louise Room.
A dedicated and consecrated memorial garden with a central eighteen foot high timber cross is located adjacent to the southwest corner of the church building.

Labyrinth
An eleven circuit meditation labyrinth, patterned after that in Chartres Cathedral, was dedicated for community-wide use in 1999. The Rev. Jill Rierdan leads labyrinth walks and retreats. Community members may experience the labyrinth walk as a kind of walking prayer, a form of spiritual journey, a physical way of moving closer to God. Amusingly enough, walking the labyrinth has also been described as a way of praying for people who can’t sit still!
Children's Church
All Saints Sunday School classes are offered from during the school year, under the direction of Katrina McGibney and Erinn Wetherby. At 10am, children aged 3 and older gather downstairs where they hear a Christian message, a Bible verse and story, prayers, handicrafts, and are invited to express what they have seen and heard. Our young ones join their families for Communion and on Holy Days. At the Christmas eve family service, children share a message with us through a beautiful pageant. Children’s Church received a bequest from the Huffman family, in honor of the late George C. Singer who passed in 2024. This memorial gift continues to support Christian Education at All Saints. Youth held a lemonade and bake sale during the summer bazaar and hosted Café Gloria for the winter bazaar. They also organized a food drives for the South Burlington Food Shelf.
Christian Formation and Education for Adults
All Saints' Adult Formation classes are led by Ann Boyd, a semi-retired Episcopal priest and member of All Saints. In 2025, Ann led in-person and Zoom sessions on:
• Richard Rohr’s book, Hope Against Darkness: The Transforming Vision of Saint Francis in an Age of Anxiety. Participants responded to the content and how personal experience helps sustain faith and faithful living. Holding onto hope in anxious times invites us to see God at work in our world. We are not the first to suffer unsettling times. Each person brings a unique experience of life and community to the conversations.
• The Book of Forgiving, D. Tutu and M. Tutu. We discussed the ways that forgiveness as a process liberates and heals is a process of becoming beloved community. Forgiveness is the gracious expression of unconditional love given to us by God. Being willing to forgive as we are forgiven is a life-long process of becoming the beloved child of God we are.
• The Band of Sisterhood by Westina Matthews, which shares conversations among the first five black women diocesan bishops in the Episcopal Church, including Vermont's own Bp. Shannon. These leaders draw strength and courage from their faith and mutual support, giving us a model of solidarity among all members of faith communities who strive to live faithfully in challenging times.
