St. Barnabas of the Valley Episcopal

Share a story

St. Barnabas of the Valley in Cortez is a small but mighty congregation whose mission is to "recognize and serve Christ in all persons."   We strive to live our faith through actions:

  • Grace’s Kitchen specializes in serving the Cortez Community for almost 25 years with 3 day a week meals to anyone who is hungry without reservation or requirement.  Since March, 2020, Graces Kitchen has adapted to Covid restrictions and offers 'curb side' portable meals.
  • Montezuma Youth Pride supports LGBTQ+ youth by providing food for student lunchtime gatherings and opportunity for conversation, support and community projects. St. Barnabas trains and coordinates adult facilitators for the program.
  • Thanksgiving Dinner -- This is just what it sounds like - a giant community meal open to anyone. You may participate by helping prepare food, cooking, serving, delivery driving, or cleaning up.
  • We also work as partners with Hopes Kitchen, The Good Samaritan Food Pantry and The Bridge Shelter.

Sunday Services  @ 10:00 am - Morning Prayer

We are currently holding Morning Prayer over Zoom and in person, with COVID precautions. Feel free to follow along in the Book of Common Prayer.
